This series disappointed me in the sense that is a mixed bag!Pros: Great illustrations and quality of the book ( they are printed in Spain)The stories are simplified enough to be enjoyed by beginner readers in Spanish.I love the idea of having a CD to hear the stories told by native speakers. And compared to the many French books with CDs published here ( the Catherine Bruzzone ones have awful accents), the lady reading the story has the actual "Spaniard" accent.But here come the cons: She speaks way fast!!! Doesn't make any sense, but she is rushing through the stories like mad!!! It's a shame, even for kids from Spain it's still way fast. There is also, very little intonation, the reader's "voices" of the 3 little bears for example are silly, and makes it harder to understand the words.The Spanish used is not the American/Latin Spanish, they use Spain's pronunciation which is a little different.The most annoying part is that sometimes the reader changes the words that are on the page. For example in the book the story starts as: "Erase una vez" and the CD reads : "Habia una vez". Doesn't make any sense to me why would they change the text?!I got this for my kids to learn Spanish but they are not ready for it yet, they can read it but they can't understand the CD, it's too fast for an untrained ear.It is a shame because there are not too many language books out there of such high quality!
